How to resend a verification email
« on: February 19, 2013, 10:26:34 PM »
If you have created a new account, or trying to set a new email on your old account, or trying to change your already verified email on your account and have not received the verification email, then you might want to try re-sending it after making sure you are able to receive emails from no-reply@staff.hades5.net.

To resend an email, go to account management on the forum, then click on "Set New Recoveries"

In the drop down, pick "Resend verification email."

Type in your username, and in the password field, you will be free to put in any password, you just won't be able to leave it blank. In otherwords, even if your pass was "pass1234" putting in "z" would work fine as any password will work. You will then be given a message informing you whether or not your email has been resent.

A word about spam.
Of course, just because anyone could login to your account in this area of account management with any password, does not mean you can get spammed, nor does it mean your account is now vulnerable to attack. For one, if you don't have a pending email, then you will get no messages of any kind, and only someone with your pass could try to set a new one anyway. Second, none of your account information is displayed during this process, so any malicious user will not get any information on you they didn't already have. Finally, once you navigate away from that area, you will not have access to any other area of account management, so you'll definitely be safe.
